Applying Tow Chain and Hooks

Cluster chains like our J-Hook Tow Chain with RTJ Cluster and Grab Hook are designed for modern cars, and properly secured RJT hooks provide extra support to vehicles and keep roadways safer!

1. Our 15'' J-Hook Tow Chain with RTJ Cluster and Grab Hook are designed to attach at the rear of the vehicle, NOT the front axle or winch cable.
2. Grab Hooks adjust the length of the Tow Chain leg and safely set aside any slack in your chain after adjustments.
3. Attach the large J-Hook to the rear axle. RTJ and Grab Hooks provide extra security to ensure the vehicle remains immobile during transport.
4. Grade 70 Chains should NEVER be used for overhead lifting; Grades 80, 100, and 120 chains are better built for overhead lifting.
